Xifeng county in Guiyang, in Southwest China's Guizhou province, has rolled out a series of measures to improve the security of homes in rural areas, according to local officials.
They said the county completed the renovation of dilapidated country houses and solved the problem of water and wind leakage in rural houses. Meanwhile, it also completed a full assessment of housing safety and on-site verification of rural housing security.
The county's reconstruction rate for dilapidated rural houses hit 100 percent, officials said. A total of 655 households saw leaks fixed in their houses and 2,694 got a housing safety assessment.
Additionally, the county released a security guarantee implementation plan – ensuring the completion of rural housing security work by the end of 2019.
Moreover, Xifeng county has made full use of local traditional materials and actively promoted suitable construction technology build new houses with character.
The county has also strengthened its quality supervision, to ensure basic living functions and sanitary conditions of the reconstructed houses.
