Xifeng county innovates to improve its community

Xinhua community, located in Xifeng county in southwestern Guizhou province, is looking to take innovation as a means to improve its community, according to local officials.

The community has set up a company to provide office supplies, advertisement designs and housekeeping services.

Officials said the company, which has made a profit of 100,490 yuan ($14,257) to date, will help solve employment problems for local low-income groups and improve the environment for the community.

The community has also taken a series of measures to optimize its business environment, aiming to provide high-quality and convenient services for self-employed entrepreneurs and private enterprises. 

To date, subsidies have been approved for 12 self-employed entrepreneurs and 105 businesses to rent work spaces.

Moreover, Xinhua community has focused on economic development. A number of mid-to-high residential districts and commercial streets have been built to help upgrade market consumption.

At present, 838 new job positions have been provided in the community and 2 million yuan has been earned from online retail sales.

Meanwhile, the total tourism revenue has reached 510 million yuan, and more than 20 million yuan has been invested in the fixed assets.

Officials said the per capita disposable income of urban residents has increased to 35,000 yuan in the community.

Additionally, the community has had private economic added value of 593 million yuan and total local taxation of 36 million yuan.
