No 1 Middle School

Founded in 1940, No 1 Middle School of Xifeng County is a model senior middle school under the jurisdiction of Guiyang City. It was formerly known as Guizhou Xifeng Middle School, until the name changed in 2006. The school has two campuses. The old campus is located on the Hebin Road in the northeast of the county and the new campus is on the right side of Longquan Avenue at the eastern foot of Tuanyuan Mountain. 

The school covers a total area of 246,000 square meters: 28,000 square meters at the old campus and 151,333.32 square meters at the new campus. The buildings, including the teaching building, the experimental building, the office building, the library, the gymnasium, the student dormitory, and the dining hall, are magnificent, and there are standard soccer fields, circular runways and other sports venues. It is equipped with scientific, chemical and biological experiment equipment and advanced multimedia education and teaching equipment. The campus is fully green and has a unique culture shown by stone carvings and sculptures. 

The school has been awarded first and second prizes in the annual model high school assessments of Guiyang. Other titles include the "Advanced Unit in Mass Sports", the "Model Experimental Teaching School" at the provincial level, the "Advanced Unit in Poetry Education" at the provincial level, the "Safe and Civilized School" at the provincial level, the "Water-saving School" at the provincial level, the municipal-level "Civilized units", the municipal-level "demonstration school in the ideological and moral education for juveniles", the municipal-level "excellent intellectual property education pilot school" and the county-level "model school in pursuant to the law".
