Global tourism industry representatives gathered on March 30 for the Guizhou Cross-Border Tourism Promotion Conference in Guiyang to discuss new opportunities for cultural and tourism cooperation.
Guizhou has announced preferential policies for cross-border tour groups, with children under 6 and seniors over 65 eligible for free admission to all State-owned A-level tourist attractions across the province. Additionally, cross-border tour groups are eligible for 50 percent off admission to these attractions during the off-season.
To support global travel partners, Guizhou has introduced a tiered cash incentive program based on the annual number of international overnight visitors, offering rewards of up to 70 yuan ($10) per person with no cap on the total number of visitors.
Specialized incentives are available for air travel, 240-hour transit visa-free tours, high-speed rail joint tours, and large international tour groups, with rewards reaching up to 80 yuan per person.
Tourism partners engaging in overseas promotion, hosting international media familiarization trips, or organizing youth exchanges can receive subsidies covering up to 30 percent of costs, with accommodation support of up to 450 yuan per person per night.
Guizhou Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, in partnership with the Guizhou Civil Aviation Group, has also launched a subsidy policy for international routes this year, following the province's plan to launch 20 new air routes. This initiative supports operators bringing tourists from Vietnam, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand, with rewards of up to 24,000 yuan per flight hour. Routes demonstrating stable operations and high foreign passenger loads are eligible for 100 percent rewards.
