A total of 120 travel agents from Southeast Asia gathered in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Jan 20, to discuss tourism cooperation between Guiyang and Southeast Asian countries.
In recent years, the Belt and Road Initiative has greatly benefited cultural and tourism cooperation between Guizhou and Southeast Asian countries, especially with Malaysia, where inbound tourism grew 511.8 percent last year compared to the previous year.
With the gradual recovery of the international tourism market and the relaxation of visa policies, new opportunities for cooperation between Guiyang and Southeast Asia have emerged.
At the seminar, Guiyang showcased its natural scenery, ethnic culture, local specialties, and other diverse tourism offerings, giving Southeast Asian travel agents a deeper understanding of Guiyang's charm.
On Jan 14, prior to the seminar, Southeast Asian travel agents embarked on a tour to explore Guizhou tourism offerings such as Yelang Cave, Meitan county, Wujiang Village Resort, Qingyan Ancient Town, Tianhetan Scenic Area, and Qingyun Market.
The travel agents said they look forward to cooperating with Guizhou's cultural and tourism enterprises to develop products and routes suitable for Southeast Asian tourists.
At the seminar, strategic cooperation agreements were signed between international business representatives and Guiyang travel agencies, marking a significant step forward in tourism cooperation between Guiyang and Southeast Asian countries.
