During the National Day holiday from Oct 1 to 7, the three major train stations in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, had a total passenger volume of 1.2 million people, with an average of 172,000 passengers per day. This sets a new record for the highest total and daily National Day holiday passenger volume since records began.

On Oct 7, Guiyang's railway stations experienced the peak of return passenger flow, with 167,000 passengers sent. This comprised 117,000 from Guiyangbei Railway Station, 18,000 from Guiyangdong Railway Station, and 32,000 from Guiyang Railway Station.

Return passenger flow was toward destinations outside the province, such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing, Chengdu, Xi'an, Changsha, Wuhan, Kunming, Guilin, and Nanning. Locations inside the province included Liupanshui, Panzhou, Bijie, Zunyi, Anshun, Kaili, Tongren, Yuping, Duyun, and Libo.

Guiyang's railway stations activated a contingency plan for high passenger flow to transport passengers promptly. They added three regular-speed trains from Guiyang Railway Station to Zhaotong, Caohai, and Liupanshui. They also added nearly 20 high-speed trains from Guiyangbei Railway Station to Zunyi, Liupanshui, Anshun, Bijie, Panzhou, Kaili, Libo, Chongqing, Chengdu, Kunming, and Guangzhou.

Multiple high-speed trains were also added to popular routes, increasing passenger capacity by over 16,000.
