Guizhou ancient Gelao printing and dyeing exhibition held in Guiyang

The exhibition of Guizhou's ancient Gelao printing and dyeing craft was held at Guizhou Provincial Library on Sept 11.

The exhibition showcased 19 printed-dyed products and 21 printing and dyeing boards, as well as tools for printing and dyeing, production process flow, photos, and more.

It explored the revival of the printing and dyeing craft in Guizhou's Shiqian county, while providing detailed insights into the process of printing and dyeing.

During the exhibition, a short film on Guizhou's Gelao printing and dyeing craft was screened, and guests engaged in discussions on topics related to the printing and dyeing craft, exhibited artifacts, and the cultivation of new practitioners of the craft.

The exhibition also featured a Gelao printing and dyeing experiential activity in the afternoon, during which 30 participants tried their hands at the scraping and dyeing steps of the printing and dyeing production process.

Through this hands-on experience, attendees gained a deeper understanding of the production process and the rich cultural significance behind it.
