A series of events was recently held in Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area, Southwest China's Guizhou province, to celebrate the ethnic Liuyueliu Festival.

On July 11, a Liuyueliu Festival celebration took place in Pingzhai village, Gui'an New Area. Thousands of Bouyei people from Guiyang, Gui'an and Anshun, as well as tourists from Chongqing, Wuhan, and Changsha, gathered together to sing and dance.

In Pianpo township, Wudang district, Bouyei people dressed in traditional costumes, singing and dancing to welcome guests from near and far, celebrating the Bouyei traditional festival.

In Longjing village, Huaxi district, teams consisting of locals and international visitors paraded around the village with drumbeats, showcasing folk skills and performances during the parade.

From July 10 to 12, Xiuwen county's Liucun town and other areas hosted a series of activities revolving around Liuyueliu ethnic customs, such as making glutinous rice cakes, singing mountain songs, drinking welcoming wine, having long-table banquets, and watching bullfighting competitions.

The rich ethnic customs and colorful ethnic culture not only created a strong festive atmosphere, but also offered tourists a refuge from the summer heat in places like Shandong, Hunan, Chongqing, and other places.
