According to the results of the national first-level museum grading evaluation, announced by the China Museums Association on May 8, a total of 123 museums were selected, including the Geological Museum of Guizhou.
The Geological Museum of Guizhou, a natural science museum, is located at the intersection of Yuntan South Road and Xingzhu Road in Guanshanhu district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
When it was first established in 1957, it was known as the geological data office of the Guizhou Geological Bureau. It served as the geological data museum, geological exhibition hall, and geological library. In August 2020, it was officially renamed the Geological Museum of Guizhou.
The museum has six exhibition halls and one interactive area, namely one prologue hall, four permanent exhibition halls, and one temporary exhibition hall.
The museum's exhibits are rich and distinctive, with a collection of over 100,000 items. This includes ancient biological fossils, mineral crystals, rock and mineral specimens, natural artifacts, and geological data.
