The STARs Tourism Cities Alliance Presentation was held in Xingyi city, Qianxinan Bouyei autonomous prefecture, Southwest China's Guizhou province, on April 12.
The STARs Tourism Cities Alliance was launched in September of last year, jointly initiated by the cities of Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Guilin, Guiyang, and Kunming.
It seeks to strengthen cooperation among member cities in tourism market development, share tourism development experience, jointly explore tourism source markets, collectively create world-class tourism destination city clusters, promote the transformation and upgrading of China's tourism industry, and foster the high-quality development of the tourism market.
During the presentation, representatives from member cities discussed the 2024 work plan for the alliance. They also engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as how to enhance communication and cooperation between cities, as well as how to build tourism destinations that meet new consumer demands.
As a specially invited guest city for this presentation, Macao sent representatives to introduce its tourist resources and industrial cooperation projects in the tourism field, especially those between Macao and Guiyang. They also expressed interest in future tourism cooperation with Guiyang.
During the presentation, travel agencies from member cities and Hong Kong and Macao travel agencies jointly signed the cooperation agreement on sharing tourist resources.
Four tourist routes covering member cities, as well as Hong Kong and Macao, were also launched at the presentation. These routes are expected to enhance the integration of regional tourism market promotion.
