The ninth day of the first lunar month is an important day in Bouyei ethnic culture. This year, Longjing village – a Bouyei village in Huaxi district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, held the 2024 Village Spring Festival Gala and invited people in the Bouyei community to come together to celebrate the day.

Early in the morning, the villagers of Longjing village began bustling about, preparing rice wine and engaging in folk activities such as making glutinous rice cakes and crafting sweet dumplings for the guests who had come from afar.

At two o'clock in the afternoon, the cultural performances commenced. More than 20 performances garnered enthusiastic applause from the audience, including the "Dragon Drum" dance from Longjing village, the "Shengshi Guofeng" dance from the Dongjie community, and the "Celebrating the Beauty of Guizhou" song from Zhulin village.

As night fell, the gala officially began, with Longjing village selecting the best performances from the afternoon showcase to present to the audience. The highly distinctive ethnic song and dance performances showcased the allure of Bouyei culture, captivating the audience and introducing them to its richness.
