Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is experiencing a vibrant winter season, brimming with activities and events that are captivating both locals and visitors.
The latest statistics released by the Guiyang Bureau of Culture and Tourism reveal that the city's cultural and tourism scene remains as dynamic as ever.
The city's leading travel agencies have reported a consistent number of visitors, and the occupancy rates of key accommodation establishments, as well as passenger throughput at the airport, are holding steady, comparable to the figures recorded in September.
Guiyang has been listed among the top 10 destinations with the fastest growth in visitor numbers during the autumn and winter seasons on Ctrip, a popular travel platform.
Furthermore, in the "visitor activity growth rate" data released by China Telecom's cultural and tourism big data, Guiyang has secured a spot in the top 10.
During the 2023 autumn and winter period, Guiyang will present over 500 activities, including concerts, theatrical exhibitions, sports tourism events, hot spring agri-tourism, and cultural tourism initiatives.
From Kunqu Opera's youthful adaptation of "The Peony Pavilion" to multimedia stage productions like "Animated Confucius" and the stage drama "Family Letters," the city has been hosting a continuous series of captivating performances.
Large-scale music festivals such as the Love Forward Music Festival and the Guiyang Strawberry Music Festival have collectively attracted over 130,000 visitors.
Looking ahead, Guiyang is set to host performances such as the New Year's music concert by the Milan Symphony Orchestra, the audio-visual music concert of "Castle in the Sky" by Joe Hisaishi, and the ballet production of "The Nutcracker", among others.
