During the just-concluded eight-day Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays, Huaxi district in Guiyang received 1.36 million visits, bringing in 807.16 million yuan ($110.42 million) in tourist revenue, surpassing the level of the same period in 2019.

According to Mafengwo, a Chinese online travel platform, during the period, Guiyang's tourism popularity soared by 198 percent, with Huaxi's Qingyan Ancient Town ranking first in the search volume of classic check-in places in Guiyang, followed by Huaxi National Wetland Park.

At the same time, a total of four of Huaxi's scenic spots ranked among the top ten in the city in terms of the number of tourists received.

As night-time tourism increases in popularity, Huaxi created new tourism models, launching festival-themed activities and roadside concerts on Shizi Street.

The activities led to considerable results. Night tourists in Qingyan Ancient Town accounted for about 20 percent of the total number of tourists; Shizi Street night visitors accounted for about 35.33 percent of the total number of visitors, while in Tianhetan Scenic Area, night visitors accounted for about 26.47 percent of the total number of tourists.
