Xiuwen draws in flocks of visitors over holiday

During this year's Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday from Sept 29 to Oct 6, Xiuwen county in Guiyang held various cultural and tourism activities to boost consumption.

From Sept 29 to Oct 5, the county received a total of 659,794 visitors, achieving tourism revenue of 338.59 million yuan ($46.5 million), increases of 204.2 percent and 225.96 percent, respectively, compared to the previous year.

The China Yangming Cultural Park in the county launched a light and laser show focusing on immersive experiences. The event received about 170,000 visits over the holiday.

At the Guizhou Forest Wildlife Park, activities such as kangaroo parades, interactive market experiences for families, and comedy performances were held, attracting about 50,000 visitors, a year-on-year increase of 164.86 percent.

Meanwhile, towns and villages in the county organized a variety of exciting cultural, sports, and tourism activities.

In addition, key hotels, homestays and guesthouses offered discounts on dining and accommodation.
