On Sept 26, the "Laian Old Times·Toy·Photography" joint exhibition took place at the Guiyang International Fashion Release Center. The exhibition revolved around vintage items, toy models, and youth photography, taking the audience on a nostalgic journey to rediscover their childhood memories.
The exhibition includes sections such as "Guiyang manufacturing," "nostalgic living room," "nostalgic barber shop," "nostalgic convenience store," and "vintage photo exhibition." It combines old and new cultural elements of Guiyang, reflecting the city's urban transformation and cultural charm.
The toy model exhibition showcased a collection of automotive models, trendy toys, and military models. It featured limited-edition cars, train models, and model assembly techniques and tools, making it Guizhou's first joint exhibition of toy model art.
The youth photography display brought together nearly 100 outstanding works by local emerging photographers.
The curator, Li Xinchun, said: "Old objects, toy models, and photographs are fragments of our daily lives. By showcasing these fragments, we aim to evoke memories, trigger reflection, and bring to people's attention those neglected feelings and self-awareness."
The "nostalgic barber shop" section had on-site barbers offering hairdressing services to visitors. According to Li, this is to some extent a "performance art" that makes the audience part of the exhibition.
As the city develops, there is increasing demand among residents for cultural activities. As Guiyang's first platform that integrates fashion, art, and cross-border living, the Guiyang International Fashion Release Center is dedicated to fulfilling people's desire for and pursuit of a more fulfilling cultural life.
