Guiyang bureau of culture and tourism on Oct 29 won the award for the Innovative Product of the Year at the 2020 Ctrip Group Global Partner Summit held in Chengdu, capital of Southwest China's Sichuan province.
The event attracted the participation of nearly 1,000 of Ctrip's partners from all walks of life and from various regions.
Early in 2017, Guiyang – capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – issued a three-year action plan to cooperate with Chinese online travel giant Ctrip.
On Sept 27 of that year, Ctrip released the Guiyang Annual Online Tourism Big Data Report – during the 8th Guiyang Tourism Development Conference – held in the county-level city of Qingzhen, administered by Guiyang.
This comprehensively set out the city's development of its online tourism and showed its strong growth momentum from multiple angles.
Guiyang then pushed to promote all-for-one tourism in 2018. Integrative development of its tourism and related industries was boosted.
Various marketing tools were applied to strengthen tourism promotions and to boost recognition by domestic and international markets of Guiyang's tourism brand.
Subsequently, Guiyang ranked among the most popular cities and the cities that tourists chose most to visit, winning it consecutively the title of Best Summer Resort City.
To cap it off, the big data cooperation model created by Guiyang and Ctrip was then selected as a 2019 World Tourism Cities Federation's smart tourism case. With its core of data support plus data applications, the model centered on a big data interface and analysis report.
Ctrip offered industry operational data and Guiyang relied on applications data based on management experience, to jointly promote the development of its tourism destination industry.
Guiyang has been dedicated to big data development and to becoming a smart city. The partners plan to expand their cooperation, relying on the considerable advantages of Ctrip's platform while optimizing data support for their mutual benefit, by developing a Guiyang tourism big data visualization system.
