The Baihua Lake scenic spot – located in the Guanshanhu district of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – recently finished construction work for its major upgrade and has reopened to the public.
Located 22 kilometers away from downtown Guiyang, the scenic spot covers an area of 83 square kilometers, including a 14.5 sq km lake with 108 islands. It was approved as a provincial park in 1987.
Since August, contractors have been renovating the scenic area's entrance, sightseeing paths and the square at the lake's dock, as well as reorganized plants and vegetation to improve the environment.
According to one tourist, the scenic has significantly expanded its roads and upgraded its infrastructure and tourists as a result will be willing to pay more to visit.
In the future, the scenic spot will continue to renovate its older and shabby sections, create more leisure areas for visitors and improve services to enhance the experience of tourists.
