As the COVID-19 epidemic situation eases in China, Guiyang in Southwest China's Guizhou province recently increased the attendance limit at cinemas, raising capacity levels from 30 percent to 50 percent. The updated capacity limit is expected to aid the recovery of the film industry.
According to Hengdian Cinemas at Guiyang's Hunter International Shopping Center, which was the first cinema to resume work in Guiyang, the number of customers has become steady after a short surge.
With the launch of new films in August and the increased attendance limit, the cinema is expecting to see more customers in the near future.
Cinemas are strictly adhering to epidemic prevention and control measures, which include attendance limits, real-name registration and body temperature checks for each customer, as well as a mandatory mask rule. Snacks are currently banned and viewers must sit one-meter apart from each other.
