Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, released the "Lianxing Guiyang" app on June 30, which is an app that allows people to board all public transport using face recognition.
People can take Guiyang's rail transit, bus rapid transit and buses by downloading the app, registering as a user, and inputting their facial information at self-service machines.
With the app, people can also enjoy a 10 percent discount when taking rail transit or buses in urban areas.
So far, all of the 25 stations of Guiyang's metro line 1 and the 25 bus rapid transit stations are equipped with gates that work with the app.
