Wei Dingmei, deputy mayor of Guiyang, led a delegation to attend the 5th China (Sichuan) International Tourism Investment Conference and the 6th Sichuan International Travel Expo, which was held in Leshan, Sichuan Province from Sept 5 to 9.
During the visit Wei signed a cooperation agreement with Leshan city government to build a coordinated development pattern of culture and tourism between the two cities on Sept 6.
On the same day, the Guiyang delegation took part in the launch of key cultural and travel projects of the expo and the Emei Global Summit, learning about planning, operating and attracting investment in these key projects and updating the latest information of the cultural and travel industry.
Guiyang and Leshan are outstanding tourist cities in China. Both of them have rich cultural and travel resources, and, as neighbors, have many customs in common.
As building of the Chengdu-Guiyang Railway is underway, they will soon have even broader space for cooperation. The agreement between the two cities will further advance their work and exchanges in cultural tourism.
It will also attract more visitors from Leshan and other parts of Sichuan to travel and shop in Guiyang, boosting Guiyang's construction as a world famous tourist city favorable for middle and high-end consumer shopping.
The delegation also learned from Leshan's experience in cultural tourism project development and cultural expo planning and service guarantees, which will be a great help in boosting Guiyang's cultural tourism development and its ability to organize major cultural tourism events.
