The Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ) launched the 2024 college students job hunting competition on Oct 8.
The competition is open to all current students from Guizhou Light Industry Technical College, Guizhou Vocational College of Industry & Commerce, Guiyang Vocational and Technical College, and Guizhou Aviation Vocational and Technical College.
The competition has five stages: promotion, registration, preliminary, semifinal, and final rounds. These stages will cover resume building, interview skills, workplace etiquette, and personal presentation.
The preliminary round will use a resume screening process, with each college recommending 10 students for the semifinals. The semifinals will involve offline roadshows, during which each participant will present a five-minute self-introduction on their career plans, job aspirations, and industry knowledge. Based on their performance, a panel of experts will select 20 participants to advance to the final round.
The final round includes two sections: self-introduction and face-to-face workplace scenarios. Judges will evaluate participants based on their resumes, live speeches, and Q&A sessions to award one first-place prize, two second-place prizes, three third-place prizes, and 14 honorable mentions.
The competition offers comprehensive services to support participants, including pre-competition training to help optimize resumes, clarify career goals, and enhance job-seeking skills. Career guidance experts will also provide on-site assistance during the final round to ensure all participants benefit from the competition.
