The Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ) recently signed a comprehensive smart energy project featuring power generation, transmission, loading and storage integration.
With a total investment of 350 million yuan ($48.21 million), it is the first comprehensive smart new energy demonstration project signed into effect by GETDZ.
The project will include the construction of a 100-megawatt distributed photovoltaic system, the development of storage projects, the establishment of charging piles, the creation of a comprehensive smart energy operation management platform, and the expansion of hydrogen production projects, facilitating the efficient integration of solar energy and hydrogen clean energy.
It is expected to be fully completed and operational by the end of 2027.
The project is projected to reduce standard coal consumption by 8,840 metric tons annually, carbon dioxide emissions by 29,000 tons, sulfur oxides by 862 tons, and nitrogen oxides by approximately 424 tons.
In recent years, GETDZ has been closely focusing on the "dual carbon" goals, leveraging its strengths in energy investment, construction, management, and technological innovation. By exploring the possibilities of cooperation in the area of new energy, and through the "solar energy + hydrogen energy" cooperation model, it aims to provide green, safe, efficient, and comprehensive energy security for enterprises in the jurisdiction.
The signing of the project agreement not only represents a practical step by GETDZ towards realizing "peak carbon emissions and carbon neutrality", but also drives industrial practices promoting green and low-carbon transformation.
It plays a leading and demonstrative role in GETDZ's high-quality development of the new energy system, increasing the effective supply of clean energy, promoting the clean transformation of high-energy-consuming industries, fostering innovation in high-end equipment manufacturing industries, and helping companies reduce electricity costs.
