A project to expand on the premises of Sinopharm Tongjitang (Guizhou) Pharmaceutical Co, including new research buildings, began construction on July 15 in the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
With a total investment of 400 million yuan ($55.75 million), the project will be divided into two phases. The first will mainly include the construction of formula particle extraction workshops and research buildings.
The second will involve the construction of alcohol extraction workshops and warehouses, to further enhance the company's drug production and storage capabilities.
Once operational, it will generate an additional operating income of 1 billion yuan and a profit and tax of tens of millions of yuan.
It is expected to add a production capacity of 800 metric tons of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula particles per year.
Since its establishment in the GETDZ in 2005, the company has relied on its advantages in pharmaceutical manufacturing and has achieved standardized planting of TCM, intelligent manufacturing throughout the entire process, and full coverage of the entire industrial chain.
It has become the largest production base for solid preparations of TCM in Southwest China, leading the development of Guizhou's TCM resources, formula particles, health products, and ethnic medicine.
