Two projects from the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ) were announced as ranking among the top 500 projects at the 8th "Maker China" SME Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition on Nov 16.
The competition, co-hosted by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Finance, aims to boost the innovation and specialization of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), fueling fresh sources of invention for the sector.
Guizhou held its regional competition from June to October 2023 to identify standout projects from the province. Nearly 400 submissions were received from fields including next-generation information technology, new materials, renewable energy, healthcare, industrial manufacturing, and green environmental protection.
The competition committee selected 10 winning projects from the provincial finals to represent Guizhou on the national "Top 500" list.
Among the selected Guizhou projects, six are from the business category, and four are from the maker category, with a focus on network and information security, smart manufacturing equipment, and medical devices.
