As Macao Airlines flight NX176 launched at the Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport on Aug 19, Guizhou welcomed its first tourist group from Macao since the resumption of the Guiyang-Macao flight.
It also marked the first time this year that the Guiyang Longdongbao International Airport received cross-border tourist groups entering Guizhou.
The flight carried a total of 107 passengers, including 104 from Macao, two from Hong Kong, and one from Taiwan. Among them, 70 Macao residents and one Taiwan resident were part of a tourist group, while the rest chose to explore Guizhou freely.
Long Cong, Guiyang's vice mayor, Xia Fei, general manager of Guizhou Civil Aviation Industry Group, and Huang Jie, deputy director of the Guiyang Bureau of Culture and Tourism, welcomed the passengers and distributed gifts to them.
"This is my first time visiting Guizhou. I've always heard that Guizhou has beautiful scenery, so after the resumption of the Guiyang-Macao flight, we chose Guizhou as our first travel destination. What I'm most looking forward to on this trip is visiting One-Thousand-Household Miao Village of Xijiang and experiencing the unique ethnic customs," said a member of the tourist group.
"We started preparing the Macao to Guiyang tourist group several months ago. The group was fully booked less than a week after the news of the direct flight's resumption was announced, and many clients have already made reservations for the next tour," said Lin Haiyan, team leader of the Sunshine Strait Travel Agency.
The tourist group spent five days and four nights visiting Liupanshui, Bijie, and Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture, experiencing the beautiful natural landscapes and rich ethnic customs of Guizhou.
