Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has taken multiple approaches to solve its water supply problems and contribute to the sound development of enterprises in the development zone.
"In the past, there was no road here, or tap water," said a manager of the garbage sorting center in the development zone.
"Thanks to the implementation of the water supply project in Xiaohe-Mengguan Industrial Park in the development zone, the water pipe network has been laid directly at the entrance of the enterprises, which has solved the water supply difficulties they were experiencing and greatly improved the business environment in the development zone."
In recent years, the ecological environment bureau of the development zone has focused on water supply difficulties and has strived to overcome difficulties in key areas and key projects as well as provide supportive measures to promote high-quality economic development in the development zone.
By 2030, the zone plans to build about 120 kilometers of new water supply pipelines, which will help solve the water supply problem for more than 50 enterprises.
In the meantime, the development zone is seeking financial support from relevant government departments to help solve the water problem. Xiaomeng Industrial Park in the development zone has applied for special debt funds worth 61.95 million yuan ($9 million) for its water supply project.
