Over the past decade, Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ) in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has seen its industrial economy grow and improve in quality.
Established in 1993, GETDZ was upgraded to the first national economic and technological development zone in Guizhou in 2000.
GETDZ is striving to develop advanced equipment manufacturing and electronic information manufacturing into its leading industries and new energy vehicles as its characteristic industry.

So far, the advanced equipment manufacturing industry in GETDZ has formed an industrial cluster dominated by aerospace, construction machinery, energy and mining equipment. There are more than 30 enterprises in the sector above a designated size – those with annual output value of 20 million yuan ($2.76 million) or more – in GETDZ.
The GETDZ's electronic information manufacturing industry mainly focuses on LCD TVs, electronic components, and wires and cables, and has gathered a number of related enterprises.

In addition, the zone's new energy vehicle industry has formed an industrial development system that is led by leading companies such as Chery Wanda Guizhou Bus Co, including automobile manufacturing and auto parts production.
There are currently 11 enterprises above a designated size in the automotive and parts industry in GETDZ.
GETDZ will focus on industrial transformation and upgrading to promote the construction of key projects and new breakthroughs in new-type industrialization.
