Shops and markets in Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ), Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, have reopened to the public as COVID-19 response measures have been readjusted in line with the changing epidemic situation in the city, local media reported.
Residents in low-risk areas will be allowed to resume shopping at markets and shops for daily necessities provided that they wear masks or take other measures to protect their health.
A manager of the Xiaohe branch of Wal-Mart Supermarket in the development zone said that in order to meet the needs of local residents, the store, under the guidance of the development zone's investment promotion and commerce bureau, prepared adequate supplies of fresh vegetables, meats, eggs, rice, edible oil and other daily necessities.
The Xiaohe branch of Beijing Hualian Supermarket also made enough fresh vegetables, meat products and fruit available to the public. A manager of the store said that at present, the supermarket's supply chain is operating smoothly, and the commodities needed by local residents can be supplemented at any time according to the supermarket's sales.
The development zone's investment promotion and commerce bureau has urgently docked Wal-Mart, Hualian, Heli and other key supermarkets and dispatched the storage of goods outside the zone, with a total of 87 metric tons of vegetables, 43 tons of rice, 17 tons of meat, 18 tons of edible oil, 18 tons of poultry eggs, and 24 tons of milk, three times the usual market sales volume.
