Since the beginning of this year, in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic and the current international situation, the investment promotion and commerce Bureau of the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ) has taken various measures to stabilize the foreign trade.
GETDZ is located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
A comprehensive survey of 130 foreign trade enterprises has been carried out, focusing on on-site visits to enterprises with a total import and export value of more than $10 million in 2021 to learn about the business operations of such enterprises and coordinate their import and export plans.
GETDZ has guided enterprises to apply for special funds for foreign trade and economic cooperation, with 33 projects of various types declared with a capital of more than 3.2 million yuan ($475,043.63).
With the support of the Guiyang municipal bureau of commerce, GETDZ has helped Chery Wanda Guizhou Bus Manufacturing Co establish contact with the African Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and obtain business guidance for overseas projects.
Guizhou Jonyang Kinetics Co based in GETDZ has set up a public marketing service platform in Kenya and built a marketing network across five countries in East Africa.
In 2021, the platform drove the export of more than 20 million yuan in construction machinery and accessories in Guizhou and throughout China.
GETDZ's investment promotion and commerce bureau will use the platform as a carrier to build a China-Africa trade platform and help more enterprises in the jurisdiction form a group to explore the African market.
