At the supercritical extraction workshop recently put into operation by Guiyang Chenguang Biotechnology Co under 24-hour automatic production, the daily feeding amount of Chinese red peppers is now capable of reaching 10 metric tons.

The company set up operations in the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ) in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, through investment promotion in September 2019.

At the end of 2019, the company invested in the construction of the Chenguang natural plant active ingredient extraction industrialization project in the Xiaohe-Mengguan Industrial Park. It is mainly engaged in the production, research and development and sale of spices such as Chinese red pepper and ginger.

The project started operating in November 2021.

"To extract a Chinese red pepper, it needs to go through more than 10 processes," said Wu Yaming, general manager of the company.

The company is equipped with the largest and most intelligent supercritical extraction equipment in China. Through automated processes, the required active ingredients can be successfully extracted and packaged into products, with little human participation.

As the largest modern high-tech enterprise with the most advanced technology in the domestic natural spice extraction industry, the company expects to process 2,000 tons of Chinese red pepper with an output value of about 1.5 billion yuan ($237.26 million) annually.
