Since July 2, the taxation authority in the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ) – located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – has handled 23 export tax refunds or exemptions through the new export tax rebate system, involving 2.78 million yuan ($434,430).
The new system, which was officially launched nationwide on June 30, integrates and optimizes export tax rebate information. It is centered on serving export companies and is driven by big tax data.
After it was launched, the GETDZ tax authority made full use of it to provide export tax refund services and the zone simplified the tax process.
In the issuance of export tax rebate certificates, one paper submission was canceled, two certificate issuance procedures were simplified and the certificate invalidation procedure was improved.
Meanwhile, the GETDZ's taxation authority has also provided one-on-one guidance to businesses that handle export tax rebates through WeChat groups and added telephone calls to guide taxpayers to familiarize themselves with the new system as soon as possible.
As a result, it's understood that tax refund applications can now be handled within one to five working days.
