The main phase of a new Chinese red pepper and ginger manufacturing plant will start production next month in Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ) – in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province – after more than a year of construction.
It is the first project being undertaken by Guiyang Chenguang Biotech Co in Guizhou. The company is mainly engaged in the production, R&D and sales of spice extracts such as Chinese red pepper and ginger.
In the first year of operation, the plant is expected to process 2,000 metric tons of Chinese red pepper, with an annual output value of about 150 million yuan ($23.21 million) and in 2025, the processing capacity is expected to ramp up to 7,000 tons of Chinese red pepper and 20,000 tons of ginger.
The facility is on a site covering 70 mu (4.67 hectares), where the company has installed raw material pretreatment workshops, spice extraction workshops, blending workshops, raw materials and finished products warehouses, office buildings and R&D buildings.
The GETDZ reportedly helped the company solve a number of problems, including provision of temporary water and electricity, as well as establishing a secure energy supply.
