In recent years, the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ) has focused on hundred billion-level industrial clusters of data centers, electronic information manufacturing, software, and information technology services with the help of the Guiyang Big Data Security Industry Demonstration Zone.
A hundred billion-level industrial cluster is an industrial cluster with an annual output exceeding 100 billion yuan ($15.65 billion).
In 2020, the output value of the demonstration zone's big data security industry exceeded 1.8 billion yuan.
In 2016, Guiyang held a real-network confrontation exercise targeting the city's real network throughout the country in GETDZ– Guiyang Big Data & Network Security Drill.

The regular holding of the drill has become important to the development of the big data security industry in GETDZ and the development of industrial chain investment has become an effective means of developing the sector.
Through industrial chain investment, GETDZ has become a new hub for the development of the domestic big data security industry, attracting more than 120 listed domestic and overseas big data security companies, well-known software service companies, and authoritative organizations to the demonstration zone.
With the help of new infrastructure, GETDZ has also accelerated the construction of green data centers and urban computing power centers to prepare for data storage, applications, transactions, and other services.
