A job fair recently sparked interest at Xiaohe-Mengguan Industrial Park in Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ) -- located in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- with over 50 companies offering work to landless farmers.
The enterprises brought more than 1,000 posts to the job fair, covering mechanical processing, security and cleaning, sales express delivery and automobile driving.
More than 200 landless farmers came to the fair to look for work, 53 of whom signed preliminary employment agreements. Relevant persons from human resources departments of enterprises explained the situation of their companies and the job requirements to the farmers.
In addition, over 200 new graduates from Guizhou Normal University and Guiyang Vocational and Technical College came to hold discussions with prospective employers.
Before the job fair, GETDZ got backgrounds on the participating companies, to gauge their employment needs, while the event was publicized online.
Moving forwards, plans are for the GETDZ to focus on the employment needs of enterprises and major projects through online and offline means.
The goal is to establish a more accurate supply and demand matchmaking platform for landless farmers and employers and provide more accurate recruitment and employment services.
