Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ) and Huaxi district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, signed a cooperation agreement with Shanghai Normal University (SHNU) on Dec 29, 2020, to establish and run a school at GETDZ.
Under the strategic cooperation deal, GETDZ will introduce SHNU’s advanced education concepts, successful school-running experience and innovative school-running development model. The goal is to build Guiyang Science and Innovation Experimental School (tentative name) affiliated to Shanghai Normal University into a top-quality education facility.
Cooperation with SHNU to establish basic education is consistent with the zone’s construction of a modern industrial town and high-quality education center.
Under the overall planning of Huaxi district, all departments will ramp up the construction of schools and the allocation of teachers and education resources. Departments will also be expected to speed up approval processes and offer enough human, financial and material resources.
