The Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ) -- in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- will build a tertiary-level general hospital, according to local media reports.
The new hospital will cost 1.497 billion yuan ($221.12 million), with a site area of 78,206 square meters, with building floorspace covering 159,815.6 sq m. The construction period for the new hospital is 18 months and it will be constructed in two phases.
The facilities will include an outpatient and emergency area, general ward, infectious diseases area, rehabilitation center, medical technology area, support system area, administrative management area and living room area.
A total of 900 beds are planned, including 500 beds in the first phase and 400 beds in the second phase.
The new hospital will aim to be at the first-class level in Southwest China, focusing on building expertise in key specialties such as abdominal surgery, cardiovascular operations, urology, otolaryngology, head and neck surgery.
