Since 2019, the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone -- situated in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – witnessed the relocation of 29 industrial projects transferred to the GETDZ from the country's eastern region, with a total investment of over 32.04 billion yuan ($4.64 billion), according to local media report on Aug 18.
GETDZ officials said that the projects which transferred to the zone mainly belonged to several main industry categories that are currently operating successfully in the zone.
They said that 11 were advanced equipment manufacturing projects, 10 were big data electronic information industry projects, three were new energy projects and a smart power grid industry project, while another was a health and medicine industry project and four were projects in the modern trade services industry.
Officials said that last year the zone received a total of 17 industrial projects from the eastern region, while in the period January to August 2020, it has received another 12 projects from there.
According to GETDZ officials, the zone has upped its game to become even more of a magnet for businesses and projects to relocate there.
They said that from last year, the zone seized the opportunities from the region's opening-up, continuously optimizing its industrial layout, working on increasing its industrial agglomeration and accelerated the development of leading industries.
They added that from the start of this year, the GETDZ identified China's eastern region as a key springboard for expanding its opening-up to the outside world.
Officials said the zone had actively carried out investment promotions with the help of major marketing activities.
