The Guiyang Economic and Technological Zone (GETDZ) -- located in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- has to date installed 631 5G base stations, accounting for 88 percent of the installation target for the whole year, according to local media reports on June 19.
GETDZ officials said the zone has achieved 5G signal coverage in its main urban area, Kaifa Avenue, Guihui Avenue, Ergezhai and other main roads, as well as in densely populated places as well as in schools, hospitals, government offices, companies and institutions.
According to zone officials, in the second half of the year, the GEDTZ will continue to promote the construction of 5G related projects and further roll out 5G signals to the more areas under its jurisdiction.
It will also build 5G special networks for specific industrial manufacturing and other corporate environments, according to the needs of 5G plus application scenarios.
