The Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ) has put its foot on the gas pedal -- installing 86 charging stations for electric vehicles since the start of the year, with a total power of 2,867.74 kilowatts, according to local media reports on June 6.
Officials said the zone -- in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- has been vigorously expanding the rollout of the charging facilities.
They said it is responding to market demand and the different development stages and application characteristics of the electric vehicles, or EVs.
At present, the zone has gradually rolled out installation of self-use or special-use EV charging facilities at residential areas, at the parking facilities of different companies and businesses and at transportation and freight parking lots.
The public EV charging stations also equipped at parking lots and temporary parking spaces on roads. And the zone has also built an intelligent EV charging service platform.
According to zone officials, the zone will continue to vigorously increase the installation of EV charging infrastructure.
They said it will build an efficient EV charging system and lay a solid foundation for developing the EV sector, increasing effective investment in public products and improving the levels of public service.
