The Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ) -- in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- recently released a list of 15 key investment projects for the development of new digital infrastructure on May 29.
The 15 projects released by the GETDZ are the first batch of key investment projects for new infrastructure, which have been supported by special funding from the Guizhou government.
Officials said they are the only projects selected on the provincial new infrastructure list.
They involve the construction of a digital twin project, another involving the industrial internet, as well as data centers and other fields. Officials said that of all the projects, the digital twin construction have more investment projects involving communities, industrial parks, the environment, city management, network security, among others.
The 15 projects also include infrastructure construction projects for the industrial internet, edge computing, a green data center, a block chain evaluation center and a smart sensor industrial park.
At present, more than 10 new infrastructure construction projects – involving environmental improvement, an intelligent underground pipeline network, global face recognition access system -- are under construction.
Zone officials said that, in recent years, the GEDTZ has grasped the opportunities presented by digitization, networking and intellectualization development and actively explored new technologies, new industrial formats and new modes.
They said the zone believes the new digital infrastructure will be an important driver of its core competitiveness. They said it will help promote economic development and will become an effective path to promote the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy.
