The entrepreneurship service center in the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ) -- in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- recently kicked off visits and investigations of small and medium-sized science and technology businesses located there, according to GETDZ officials.
Officials said that the exercise was to help the resident firms to make preparations for their applications to be granted 'high-tech enterprises' title.
On March 18, staff members from GETDZ's service center visited eight small and medium-sized scientific and technological enterprises. They explained support policies to all levels of scientific and technological enterprises -- as well as policies related to small-amount guaranteed loans in the zone.
At the same time, the staff explained the basic conditions for the application for the title of high-tech enterprises and the details that should be addressed in the applications.
Officials said that through this visit, on the one hand enterprises got more useful information in their bid to win the title of "high-tech enterprise" as well as for applications for small-amount guaranteed loans.
They said that on the other hand, the visit also made enterprises fully realize that the successful acquisition of the title "high-tech enterprise" could bring a lot of benefits.
It could promote the transformation and commercialization of enterprises’ science and technology.
Officials added that it could also help enterprises to enhance their brand image, enhance their market value and capital value -- and prove that they had strong capabilities in technological innovation and high-end technological development in their fields.
This would be conducive for enterprises to open up to both domestic and foreign markets, officials added.
