The equipment manufacturing talent base of Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ) in Guiyang -- capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- passed its final appraisal and got additional funding of 300,000 yuan ($42,993.49) on Feb 11, according to GETDZ officials.
The GETDZ was given the green light to build provincial equipment manufacturing talent base at the end of 2013.
Officials said that since then, the zone has been focusing on its goal of building a new industrial system and creating a one hundred-billion-yuan level innovation platform and seizing opportunities.
It has also been focusing on actively innovating, constantly innovating its talent recruiting and broadening its hiring channels and increasing its overall talent introduction efforts -- providing strong intellectual support and recruitment guarantees for the development of the zone.
According to local media reports, the zone decided to take its appraisal as a provincial talent base as a start to cultivating and attracting talent on a large scale.
Officials said the zone plans to cultivate and introduce more new hires in key development areas.
These include electronic information, automobile manufacturing, aerospace and other advanced industries.
Officials said this would help promote the optimization of the talent team in the zone. It would also enhance the ability for independent innovation by talent and increase the proportion of high-level innovation and entrepreneurship talent.
