As of Feb 11, 39 industrial enterprises above a designated size -- the statistical term referring to companies with annual sales of 20 million yuan ($2.9 million) or more -- had resumed work at the Guiyang Economic and Technological Zone (GETDZ), GETDZ officials said.
They said that in addition to the 39 businesses in the GETDZ in Guiyang -- capital city of southwestern Guizhou province -- other companies would return to work after Feb 11 according to the situation of epidemic prevention and control.
In order to prevent and control the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic and maintain the stable development of the local economy, officials said the GETDZ has gradually allowed the resumption of production of all kinds of enterprises according to the relevant regulations at the provincial and municipal levels.
Officials said that enterprises located at the zone would resume production in batches, as they met the requirements of epidemic prevention and control.
In industry, projects involved in ensuring the operation of public utilities gradually resumed production on Feb10, GETDZ officials added.
These included those related to water, gas and power supplies, as well as epidemic prevention and control projects -- such as medical device, drugs and medical protective products production -- and other related enterprises essential to the economy and the livelihoods of residents.
