A delegation from Guiyang Economic and Technological Zone (GETDZ) -- a development zone of Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- visited Japan and Singapore on Dec 10-17, 2019, on a successful investment drive, according to GETDZ officials.
During the visit, the GETDZ signed five commercial agreements with institutions and companies from the two countries involving industry projects, technical exchanges and cooperation and staff exchanges.
GETDZ officials said the delegation visited many local institutions and companies in Japan and Singapore.
They promoted the development situation in the zone, its industrial structure, investment environment and support policies -- and invited institutions and companies to visit.
On the afternoon of Dec 16, a special investment promotion conference on GETDZ's health and manufacturing industries was held in Singapore. It attracted representatives from over 30 Singapore companies involved in intelligent manufacturing, health care, business services, education and training.
At the conference, Liu Xiaodong, deputy secretary of the development zone Party committee and colleagues with the zone's investment promotion bureau presented information and outlined the regional advantages, industrial development and existing projects in the GETDZ.
Zeng Shisheng, former minister of trade and industry of Singapore and the first president of Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park, was invited to attend and deliver a speech.
Officials said business agreements were signed at the conference and representatives from participating companies said they were confident the GETDZ had great development prospects, adding that the zone could work with Singapore's companies.
GETDZ officials added that they planned to continue to strengthen communications with the companies and would strive to attract more international businesses to relocate in the zone.
