Three big data projects of companies in Guiyang Economic and Technological Zone of Guiyang -- capital city of southwestern Guizhou province -- got subsidies for encouraging development, according to local media reports on Dec 23.
The three GETDZ projects that were funded this time were the "Technical Requirements for Data Security Protection of Private Information Disaster Recovery Centers" of Guizhou Safe-code Technology Co Ltd, the "Technical Specifications for Comprehensive Shooting Ranges in Cyberspace" and "Standards for Big Data Security Jobs Classification and Capability" of Guizhou Guowei Xin'an Technology Co Ltd.
Before the award of the subsidies, the zone had issued relevant policies.
They were targeted at companies leading the formulation of international standards, national standards, industrial standards, local standards and group standards.
They will be given subsidies of 1 million yuan ($143,082), 500,000 yuan, 200,000 yuan, 100,000 yuan or 50,000 yuan of subsidies for encouraging their work.
And for those technical achievements in the field of big data converted into international, national, industrial and local standards, the amount of the subsidy that the firm gets will rise by 20 percent.
According to local media reports, at present, the three projects have received 108,000 yuan of subsidies respectively, which is 30 percent of the total subsidies due to them. After the three projects are officially released and implemented, the remaining 70 percent of subsidies will be granted.
In recent years, the GETDZ has been pursuing the basic and strategic role of standardization in increasing the competitiveness of enterprises.
It has also promoted the transformation of economic development methods and modernized the government governance system and capacity in the spirit of continuously improving the standardization level of the zone, officials said.
Since the establishment of the GETDZ base for "National Technical Standard Innovation Base (Guizhou Big Data)", the zone has continued to combine its own advantages in the development of the big data industry -- focusing on the general goal of facilitating the innovation base.
Officials said it has made breakthroughs in the opening-up and sharing of big data and big data security.
