Guizhou Zhongnan Transportation Technology Co's project, Key Technologies and Applications of a Video AI Platform and Proactive Control for Expressway Networks, received the World Transportation Pyramid Award at the 2026 Global Transportation Technology Exchange and World Transportation Pyramid Award ceremony, held at Xiamen University.
Established by the World Academy of Transportation Sciences, the biennial award is widely regarded as a top honor in the global transport sector, recognizing organizations and individuals for outstanding achievements in scientific research, technological innovation, major infrastructure projects, and green development.
The company's project integrates video AI and proactive traffic control technologies to address limitations of conventional systems, including fragmented monitoring and weak coordination. The system enables traffic video applications to move beyond basic visualization toward intelligent analysis, standardized assessment, platform management, and proactive control. It has been applied in traffic video cloud networking, intelligent incident monitoring, digital infrastructure, smart service areas, and smart tunnels in Guizhou.
This award marks an international recognition of Guizhou's advances in intelligent transportation technology.
