The first full-process quality management system for superalloy revert materials in China's aviation forging industry has entered operation at Guizhou Aviation Technology Development Co in Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone.

The system recently passed an on-site assessment by a panel of experts drawn from both the Chinese Society for Testing and Materials Zhongguancun and the Confederation of Chinese Metalforming Industry, marking a major step forward in the standardized recycling and reuse of strategic aerospace materials.

Superalloys are critical materials used in aircraft engine components. However, the recycling of superalloy revert materials has long faced challenges such as inconsistent management, inadequate classification, and limited traceability.

To address these issues, the Confederation of Chinese Metalforming Industry developed a new industry standard for aerospace superalloy revert materials, which took effect on May 1, 2025.

Guizhou Aviation Technology Development Co was one of the key contributors to the standard and became the first company to establish and implement a quality management system based on it.

Experts say the system is the industry's first to cover the entire lifecycle of revert materials, including their classification, collection, transportation, storage, and utilization. It improves traceability and resource efficiency while ensuring product quality and safety.

The system is expected to boost the recycling rate of strategic metals and support the aviation and aerospace industry's transition toward greener, more sustainable development.
