Guiyang National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in Southwest China's Guizhou province is strengthening its business environment through a targeted "Five Helps" initiative aimed at supporting enterprises through financing, market expansion, cost reduction, infrastructure, and innovation support.
The zone has adopted a unique "partner-style" approach, providing tailored solutions and proactive support to companies facing challenges in financing, real-world industrial application, and overseas expansion.
Xi'an Zhongke Weijing Photonics Technology Co's Guizhou subsidiary, which specializes in ultrafast laser precision processing equipment for the aviation industry, is one of many companies to benefit from the initiative. As market demand surged in 2026, the company faced a funding shortage while preparing to expand production capacity.
After learning about the company's difficulties during routine visits, local officials quickly coordinated support services and connected the company with provincial and municipal investment institutions. Through multiple rounds of project matchmaking and on-site inspections, the company eventually secured nearly 80 million yuan ($ 11.64 million) in equity investment.
The funding is now supporting production line upgrades, equipment procurement, and the expansion of manufacturing capacity for aviation engine components.
The zone has also helped local technology companies explore commercial applications. Rongyun Innovation Technology (Guizhou) Co, a developer of AI-powered delivery robots, once struggled to enter the local market despite possessing advanced autonomous navigation and elevator-access technologies designed for short-distance indoor deliveries in office buildings and residential communities.

To bridge the gap between technology and market demand, the zone organized an immersive business matchmaking event for more than 20 building operators and property management companies. Instead of formal presentations, participants directly observed robot demonstrations and discussed practical operational issues, including navigation in older buildings and system integration.
The event soon led to business opportunities, with delivery robots gradually being adopted in local high-end communities. The company has also secured one of Guizhou's first large-scale export orders for community delivery AI robots to Southeast Asia.
To further support foreign trade enterprises, the zone has introduced new communication platforms focused on overseas market expansion. At one recent salon held in a cafe setting, nearly 30 companies met with logistics and trade experts to discuss international shipping trends, multimodal transport solutions and foreign exchange risk management.
By shifting from policy-oriented lectures to interactive service-based communication, the zone aims to provide businesses with more practical and efficient support.
Officials said the initiative reflects a broader effort to build a more responsive and innovation-friendly business environment, helping enterprises solve real operational challenges while promoting industrial growth and technological innovation.
