A government-backed certification support program in Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone has gained strong recognition from small- and micro-sized enterprises.
Launched last year, the program aims to boost their growth by integrating certification services with business development.
Under a model of "government coordination, professional support, and enterprise benefit", certification bodies and technical experts have been dispatched to provide on-site guidance and tailored improvement plans.
According to the local market supervision authority, the first batch of 20 companies has completed comprehensive on-site diagnostics, resulting in 20 customized assessment reports and more than 100 targeted recommendations.
Unlike traditional certification approaches focused on compliance, the program targets key industries such as advanced equipment manufacturing, electronic information, new energy materials, and the data sector. Companies with strong growth potential were selected through a "chain-based" screening mechanism.
Expert teams conducted in-depth evaluations covering certification systems, cost management, product quality, and labor productivity. Each company received tailored solutions addressing operational bottlenecks and management gaps.
Participating firms reported significant benefits. One software company said the program provided "timely and comprehensive guidance" to address rapid expansion challenges, while another noted it uncovered overlooked management issues.
Authorities said the program helps shift certification from a formality to a practical development tool. The program is expected to expand to over 60 small- and micro-sized enterprises this year, supporting high-quality industrial growth in the region.
