Guiyang National High-tech Industrial Development Zone (Guiyang HIDZ) in Southwest China's Guizhou province has expanded its ranks of technologically-advanced small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), with 13 firms recognized in the first batch of Guizhou's 2026 provincial SME list.
The selected companies are largely concentrated in emerging sectors, including software and information technology services, intelligent hardware, biotechnology, and internet technology.
The group reflects a diverse innovation landscape, ranging from firms specializing in video technology to cross-sector players integrating traditional food processing with modern R&D.
Their inclusion highlights the zone's sustained efforts to develop the digital economy and foster high-quality growth among tech-driven SMEs.
This designation is part of Guizhou's broader initiative to cultivate a tiered system of technologically advanced SMEs under its enterprise development implementation guidelines.
Guiyang HIDZ has strengthened its full-chain support mechanism in recent years, covering enterprise discovery, incubation, services, and recognition. Through policy support, financing facilitation, and talent development, the zone has accelerated the growth of a cohort of SMEs distinguished by strong technological capabilities and innovative business models.
